Great Weekend

What a pretty cool weekend. We got to see the World Champion Spurs spanked the Celtics. We were in the cheap seats, but it really wasn’t that bad. I really liked it, I think Kody did, too. Well, for the most part. We got to sleep in on Saturday. That was pretty nice. We went to this restaurant on Saturday called the “Magic Time Machine”. Very cool place. All the wait staff and hosts are dressed as cartoon or otherwise fictional characters. We we greeted by strawberry shortcake and were waited on by Johnny Bravo. Pretty cool stuff. Sunni and I shared a plate of food that could have fed. Sunni and I got out of there for $25 including tip. That wasn’t so bad. Adam and Kari were closer to $35. Johnny Bravo brought Adam his Dr. Pepper in one of those salad bar containers. It held about a half-gallon of DP. Pretty cool stuff.

After we left, we were stuffed. We then went to the zoo. Kari had stumped her toe before they lefr Angelo, and it hurt real bad, so when we got to the zoo, the girls got in wheelchairs. This was pretty cool for about the first hour. There are lots and lots of hills at the San Antonio zoo. Kody stayed awake almost the whole time, and he wasn’t fussy at all. That is really, really nice. Kari held him about 95% of the zoo outing. There are pictures to come later.

After the zoo, some of us thought we should go home, but instead, we went to the movies to see “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe”. Very good movie. One of the best I have seen. There are several websites that tell the allegory for this story. This one is the best: http://cslewis.drzeus.net/papers/lionwitchallegory.html

I think there are lots of people who will watch this and have no idea the truth behind how it relates our human condition of sinfulness and salvation. Some people will not see this movie specifically for that. To me, this is one of the most powerful movies I have ever seen. This is a movie kids see as a fun, fantastic-type movie. Adults see what Lewis meant when he wrote it.
