A good day

for some reason, I just can't seem to feel rested. In class, it feels like if I stay silent for 5 minutes, I will fall asleep. I guess that's why I talk so much. I'm sure all the kids I teach are pretty tired of that by now. I just don't know any other way to teach. Hopefully some kids are learning something. Aside from all that, tonight was fun. After a really long day, I got to spend some qualitytime with my boys at the house. We watched the end of "Cars", and both Aaron and Kody really like that movie.

Kody is really trying to solve problems and figure stuff out and that is really neat. He's asking "why" about almost everything. I am told I did that a lot, too. Aaron seems to be talking more and more clearly in the last week or so. He is just adorable. We were going to try to get some pictures made this week, but Kody decided to hit himself in the eye with a coke bottle last night. Sweet little shiner. He told me the lady that was babysitting called it "soda" and not "coke" and that really puzzled him and he questioned why one thing can have two different names. I know teenagers and adults who never ponder that deeply.

Forever

I seriously have not updated this since September 2007. That is pathetic. There is way too much interesting stuff that happens on a daily basis to keep it all to myself. For instance, tonight at volleyball, I, or the team I was on never lost a game. See, this is the kind of crucial information you have been missing out on. I have a friend/acquaintance that usually plays, but he was "busy". I think he was acting like a homophone of a city in Saskatchewan. Maybe that is a little harsh. I take my volleyball very seriously. It is 11. It's bedtime. I will try to keep everyone updated on these fascnating details of my jet-setting, rockstar lifestyle.

Not so Good

Well, 45-6 doesn't ever feel very good, but there were a few bright spots. If the dead-ball personal foul penalties can be eliminated and we will stop shooting ourselves in the foot, then things will be OK. It still hurts, though. I will try to upload a video of Prennis and his 65-yd TD run. Until next week.

The First Day of School

Man, it was a great day. I have the best job in the world. I had fantastic kids in class and everything was awesome. I am super-pumped about this year. Athletics was good, too. I think we have lots of conditioning and learning to do, but we are going to have some success this year. I am pretty excited about everything right now.

A Pretty Good Day

Saturday work was good this morning. The film breakdown was pretty fast, and it was put in the computer easily. We headed to Austin earlier than expected. That made Sunni pretty happy, I think. We went to the Saks 5th Avenue of Goodwill stores in Cedar Park on the way to Austin. Nice stuff all those rich people donate. I got a couple of shirts, a belt and a pair of shoes. Sunni got 3 pairs of jeans, Aaron got a pair of shoes, and Kody got a book and a straw hat, and we got out of there for around $40. We are staying in the Double Tree club tonight. Aunt Bonnie is having an anniversary party and we are staying here for that. Really nice room. Super comfy bed. I am sleepy now, so I should take a nap while Sunni and the boys are out shopping with her parents and sister and her kids. Laters people.

Can You Feel It?

This is what Brian Dawkins asks and the startup of Madden 08. Oh yeah, I can feel it. Fantastic game. I rented it last night and played it until 4:30 am. Good times. Just wanted to let everyone know. When I get fired for not showing up to work next week, we'll seee how much fun I am having then.

The Blog is Back

OK, School is starting soon. I am back in a semi-normal routine, and the blog has returned. On Fridays, I will have a JH football game report,along with HS and College Picks. On Saturday, the HS report and NFL Picks, and on Sunday and Monday, an NCAA and NFL re-cap/opinion. throughout the week, I will deliver important news and information from the world of 7th Grade science. Yeah. Sounds exciting, huh? I thought so.

I just got this new add-on for firefox that runs your media player through firefox in a little toolbar at the bottom. Very cool. Very Cool.

Oh Happy Day

The day has finally arrived. My Xbox 360 left McAllen, TX yesterday, and will arrive at my home TODAY. I am super pumped about this. This is a good day. I have missed him and he is coming home. NCAA 08 was rented last night in preparation for this glorious day, and now I can play sooner than expected. Yipee!

Some of the Things I Hate About Liberals

Where do I begin? There are so many. I just wanted to address a couple of them today, as they were in the news. Number one: Universal Health Care. You can ask anyone in America if they like paying health insurance premiums, and 99.9% will say no. My employer pays $225 per month for mine, and I still pay $398 out of pocket each month. This is the lowest-tier plan that I am offered. Educators on TRS Active Care get s-c-r-e-w-e-d on health care premiums. Oh well. I pay it to protect my family. I understand that some families cannot afford health insurance. There are already programs like medicaid to cover the greatly impoverished. Sunni and I didn't have health insurance when we first got married, and it hurt, but it was a choice. We could have done it, we just chose not to. Universal, government controlled health care is not the way to solve this problem. Imagine how this will work. If the government is paying for it, then they regulate it. The federal government will set the prices physicians can charge, they will regulate when you can go to a hospital and where you must go. That sounds like lots of fun. How much coverage will I have? Call me capitalistic, but if I want the best medical coverage money can buy, then that is my right as a citizen. I hate being told what to do with my money, and guess who will be paying for old man stinky's cirrhosis treatment, that's right...we will, the taxpayer. I already hate paying social security for those who didn't plan for their own retirement, I DO NOT want to pay any more than I already do for other people's health care. And freaking Obama bin Laden and John "Barber Shop 3" Edwards want this 'universal health care' to cover abortions, too. Yipee. I would vomit if this all panned out they way they want. Now I'm all worked up.

Number 2: Sex Education. If you have ever read Ann Coulter's book 'Godless', she discusses some kids as early as 3rd and 4th grade taking mandatory sex education at school. No joke. Little kids. I don't know about all of you, but my high school did not offer sex ed, and I think all of us turned out OK. Sex ed is a touchy subject because liberals hate it when anyone mentions this idea of teaching abstinence. Since abstinence is the only 100% effective means to prevent pregnancy and STDs, it seems like a pretty good option, right? Oh, no, you can't mention that in school, and you better not dare mention that sexual purity is what God desires of us. Yeah, I mentioned God, I understand that is a big no-no with Liberals. Well, our good friend B. Hussein Obama thinks maybe sex ed should start as early as kindergarten! This is scary! Is this who we want running the country? If I every enrolled my sons at a school that mentioned sex to them in elementary school, they would very quickly become home-schooled, and there might be a lawsuit. That is insane.

I know that since the Democrats want to capture the far left vote for the primary, they are pandering to an even wilder ideology right now. They will move more toward the center for the general election, which is even more frightening. They will lie to us and tell us they believe in faith, and family values, but don't believe it.

I am not Ashamed

I am not ashamed to admit I like the new singing/karaoke/lyrics shows on TV. I have them both Tivo'd and they are pretty goodJoey Fatone even did the little gay 'bye, bye, bye' dance last week. It's fun. I like this type of show. I like to sing, but I am horrible, but I know lots of useless lyrics. OK, got to get back to the show. Peace Out.

Obama is Black Enough

In a "Take Back America" Rally, B. Hussein Obama was introduced by NAACP spokesman Roger Wilkins and was described as 'Black Enough' for the candidacy. Now, I don't know if that is an insult or what. I mean, when will people stop selling themselves short. This is another example of liberal politicians always keeping minorities under their thumb with welfare and other social programs. Now, black voters can't even have a real black candidate, just someone who is 'black enough'. What Wilkins meant to say was, "Well, he's no Bill Clinton, but he's black enough."

Or maybe it was a rallying cry just to get all blacks to vote for a candidate that is of the same skin tone. Hillary is as white as they come, and I will NEVER vote for her. I would love to see John Edwards being introduced by a Klansman in South Carolina as being 'white enough'. Well, actually, nothing would come of that because he is a Democrat. If Duncan Hunter were introduced by a Klansman, then he would promptly be stoned to death. Thank you liberals for your 'tolerance' of other people's views and your egregious double standards

Go Spurs Go

That was a great series. I'm glad Parker won MVP. That will give some sports writers something to complain about. I think the Spurs need to get a little bit younger. They have lots of age on that team. They may be able to make another run with that squad, but it'll be tough.

My Day at the TLC

After Much Ado

I have been trying to shrink this file to an acceptable size. I like NERO for lots of things, but not too much for the text you can do in the video. It would be cooler if there were more options, but oh well. Nero Ultra is a great program.

At the Conference

I have attended a couple of little "breakout sessions" this morning. I learned about podcasting, which is really cool. I think I want to move in this direction with my classes. I think it would be awesome for students to hear class discussions and see labs on their computers. They can take this home and not rely just on reading notes. I think this will do nothing but help students. The only problem is it takes a lot of planning and doing. Sometimes I'm not too good at that during the school year. OK, a new session is starting, so I am gonna go. I will try to post some video on YouTube, but the disk I brought seems to have problems. I didn't bring any more DVDs. That was dumb.

Lazy Sunday

Mr. Pibb + Red Vines = Crazy Delicious

Well, the day began like any other day. I stayed up late bowling. I am a crappy bowler. Adam taught me how to spin the ball instead of just bowling like an old man or little girl. I FINALLY got the hang of it oh, about game 5 or 6. I bowled a 165 and a 154 with the spin. I also bowled a 132 left-handed. Again, I am a crappy bowler. After we got home, I was thirsty, but didn't want to do anything about it. Eventually, I went to get something to drink, when I got back I got caught up in the movie Fight Club.

I fell asleep around 3:30 or so. Adam woke me up at 9 something. We went and got breakfast and brought it back to the apartamento. We then had to get the U-Haul. I was there to move stuff. That is my mission in life. To help people move stuff. Well, they were out of trucks. Insane. I thought Adam was gonna break some glass. We could have worked harder to secure a truck from someone, but just kind of decided not to do anything at all. We went in the backyard and played baseball catch for forever. After numerous sweet home-run saving catches, we had to get in the pool. Judging by the redness on my shoulders, we were at the pool a little too long.

We really didn't get much done today. Oh well, Adam and I haven't just hung out in a while. Allegedly, Kari was home all day. At least, I think she was. Maybe it was just her voice on a recording. I was at the apartment until about 9:30 tonight, and never once saw her.

Sunni is doing steadily better today. Painful and sore. I guess that is to be expected. When the laundry finishes and I put some more aloe on my shoulders, it is gonna be sleepytime.

Lots of Good News

Sunni was taken to surgery about 8:10 this morning. She was leaving the hospital by 3:00. Everything was a success. The bile duct was clean. I have some neat pictures taken with the scope, so when I can get to a scanner, I will post those. Sunni is in pain and has 4 new holes in her abdomen. She's doing really well.

Aaron is officially crawling. He is still pulling himself with his arms, instead of coordinating movement with the arms and knees at the same time, but it is officially a crawl. That is pretty awesome stuff.

Kody had fun jumping on JoLee and JB's trampoline this evening. He tolerates laying in the middle while I jump and bounce him, but he really likes when I hold him really close and then jump. He really likes that. He hated to go in this evening, as he does most all the time after playing outside. We also go to go play with the goats. He did lots of petting and a tiny bit of ear pulling. A little calf came wandering up to us and Kody thought that was so very cool. He kept calling it a dog, but can tell you that it moos.

Witness

I hope all of you remember where you were this evening. You may remember it for a while now. I just watched LeBron James single-handedly beat the Pistons. He scored the last 25 points and 29 of the final 30. Just insane. I was amazed by some of the shots he was taking, and hitting. Just incredible. Anyone who loves basketball is slightly sad because the rest of the Cavs seem to be so crappy, but most of us are just amazed that something like that just happened. So very fantastic.

We made it to Uvalde/Brackettville just fine. Sunni has to be at the hospital by 7:00 in the morning.

Everyone that can should go to the FCA All-Star Football Game in Abilene's Shotwell Stadium Saturday night at 7:00. It's going to be great. Will Schumann is playing, Abby Probst is cheering, Glen Jones is coaching, and Terry Bean is giving the invocation. Everyone who can, should definitely be there
